MCAA Working To Appeal OSHA's Coronavirus Reporting Requirements Words: Jeff BuczkiewiczThe MCAA is working with fellow Construction Industry Safety Coalition members to ask the Department of Labor to pull back their recent guidance on reporting COVID-19 (Coronavirus) illnesses on employer OSHA Logs. We are hopeful the DOL will see this as it is, which is another burdensome requirement on employers in an already highly volatile situation for employers and employees alike. The DOL does not require a cold or the flu to be reported and the thinking is that this virus is another form of the flu and should be treated as such. The MCAA will keep you up to date on these ever-changing developments and will provide as much information for you as possible. Below you will find the record keeping requirements, an announcement about the Senate Bill approved that will likely be signed by President Trump with regard to employer required paid leave for employees, a description of the tax implications for such leave for employers and a host of helpful information from the Federal Government on the Virus.
